THE BOYFRIEND

The Boyfriend had been running in the London west end theatres when producers Cy Feuer and Ernest Martin purchased the rights to the production. Feuer and Martin also, persuaded Julie Andrews, at the time a slow rising actress, to put her British acting career on hold.  The Boyfriend and Julie Andrews  made their American and Broadway debut September 30, 1954 at the Royal Theatre. Julie Andrews was rewarded with the 1955 Theatre World Award.
