DOCTOR JAZZ
An original Broadway musical set in Storyville, the brothel quarter in New Orleans in 1917, Doctor Jazz debuted at the Winter Garden Theatre March 19, 1975. The musical in two acts featured Lola Falana (Edna Mae Sheridan) was nominated for three 1975 Tony Awards. Lola Falana was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical, Raoul Pene Du Bois was nominated for Best Costume Design, and Donald Mckayle was nominated for Best Choreography.
