Dr. Faustus
Doctor Faustus was written by Christopher Marlowe and first produced in 1859. Abe Feder worked on this Orson Welles produced play as Lighting Director. Welles and Feder developed a modern version of the "Black Out System" by using elliptoidal bulbs and an elaborate system of cones. The effect was to create thirteen scenes without scenery. This Federal Theatre project opened at the Maxine Elliot Theatre, New York City.
