THE IMMORALIST
Based on the 1901 novel L'Immoralist (The Immoralist) by Andre Gide, Set in Normandy, France and Biskra, North Africa, The Immoralist is a tale of self discovery and repressed homosexuality. Produced by Billy Rose, the Immoralist debuted at the Royal Theatre in February of 1954. James Dean received the 1954 Theatre World Award for his role as Bachir. Other cast members are as listed: Louis Jourdan, Geraldine Page, Charles Dingle, Bill Gunn, John Heldabrand, Paul Huber, Adeaide Klein, David Stewart.
