Johnny Belinda

 

Johnny Belinda open in September 1940 at the Belasco Theatre, New York City. Written by Elmer Harris, the original Broadway dramatic play was set in Prince Edward Island, off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada. Produced and directed by Harry Wagstaff Gribble, Johnny Belinda completed 321 performances before closing production at the Longacre Theatre in June of 1941. Frederick Fox and Abe Feder provided the scenic design and lighting design respectively.
