Scratch
Scratch debuted at the St. James Theatre May 6, 1971 and managed only 4 performances prior to closing May 8th. The original play written by poet Archibald MacLeish suggested by Stephen Vincent Benet's short story "The Devil and Daniel Webster." The play was set in Daniel Webster's farmhouse in Mansfield, Massachussets and in Jabez Stone's farmhouse in Cross Corners, New Hampshire.
